### Notarization, fully online

US documents made legally valid for Italy, without anyone getting on a plane. We built the entire platform behind it: the site, the ordering flow, and the dashboards the operation runs on.

### Building ItalianNotary.com

Getting a US document legally recognized in Italy has always meant assembling a chain: a notary, an apostille, a certified translation, an international courier, and weeks of silence in between. The people who need it most, Americans claiming Italian citizenship, buying or selling property, or settling an inheritance, tend to live an ocean away from every office involved. ItalianNotary.com, a service by The Italian Bureau, moves that entire chain online.

We were approached to build it, and we built all of it: the [development](https://opulon.org/services/web-app-development) from A to Z, the [interface](https://opulon.org/services/ui-ux-design), the [workflows](https://opulon.org/services/automation), and part of the [strategy](https://opulon.org/services/product-strategy) along the way. A client uploads their documents and configures what each one needs. For use in the US or in Italy, with an apostille, a certified Italian translation, document preparation, or a witness service. Then they book a 30-minute online notarization in their own timezone and pick a delivery method, from a free digital copy sent by email to an express courier with an estimated delivery date. Payment, confirmation, and tracking sit in the same flow. What used to be weeks of email threads is now one guided order.

The side clients never see took just as much work. We built the team a complete management system. The admin dashboard covers orders across all notaries, document inquiries, services and document types, pricing configurations, schedules, invoices, notary payout rates, delivery holidays, a Google Calendar sync, and a CMS for the site itself. Each notary gets a dashboard of their own: their cases, the documents clients submitted, the finished notarizations to upload back. The whole process is digitized on both sides of the desk.

The [MVP](https://opulon.org/services/mvp-development) went live about a month after we started, and that was the start rather than the finish. We’re still working with the team on new iterations of the platform, adding features and refining the flows based on what the notaries report from real cases.
