### +404 applications

Three flat years, then a 45-day campaign. Applications for the 23/24 intake rose from 2,605 to 3,009 — the faculty’s strongest year of the four it measures against.

### 45 days to turn the curve

For three years the applications chart at FP VUT drifted the wrong way: 2,686, then 2,569, then 2,605. The Faculty of Business and Management at the Brno University of Technology had a story worth telling: its students start team companies and run real projects during their degree. Yet the numbers refused to move, and not for lack of trying: those flat years had campaigns behind them too, run with agencies over considerably longer periods. Ahead of the 23/24 admissions season, the faculty handed us and our partners at MAROŠI one goal: more applications than in the years before. The application deadline left 45 days to deliver.

We started with [market research](https://opulon.org/services/research): who is finishing high school and choosing a business faculty, where they spend their time, and what they scroll past. The answers shaped the whole [campaign strategy](https://opulon.org/services/advertising). No institutional voice, no stock lecture halls. The campaign spoke student to student under one line, “Tady můžeš!” (Here you can), and stood on real people: Laci, who grows his family’s firm with what he learns at FP, and Teo, who arrived, founded a team company, and launched two projects. As the deadline closed in, the creative switched to a countdown. We [produced everything ourselves](https://opulon.org/services/content-production): photography, video, animation, [graphic design](https://opulon.org/services/graphic-design), post-production, and the short-form copy carried on every visual.

The media side ran on discipline rather than volume. Meta carried the campaign: prospecting first, retargeting and re-engagement from week two, around five creatives live per ad set so there was always something to test. Custom and lookalike audiences kept the budget on actual prospective students in Czechia and Slovakia, and [tracking](https://opulon.org/services/digital-marketing) via Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel was in place before the first ad ran, so every optimization decision had data behind it. We prepared the Google Ads strategy and keyword research, weighed TikTok, and cut it; the goal was applications, not reach for its own sake. Alongside the main push, two one-week local campaigns drove open-day attendance and kept the faculty visible in Brno itself.

After 45 days the campaign had put 2.57 million impressions in front of potential applicants and reached 714,354 people. The line itself traveled further: meme pages picked up “Tady můžeš!” and posted their own twists on it, carrying the campaign organically beyond anything the media plan paid for. Applications for 23/24 closed at 3,009: up 404 on the year before, a 15.5% increase, and the strongest of the four years the faculty measures against. It came in under the planned budget, too.
